Decine di migliaia di ettari inceneriti e dozzine di vittime.
Le alte temperature, in diversi casi anche prossime ai 40°C , i forti venti e la mancanza di precipitazioni, hanno favorito la rapida propagazione di incendi devastanti nella zona centrale del Paese. In poco meno di tre giorni sono andati in fumo più di 50mila ettari di terreno boschivo. Incenerite anche molte case e le vittime sono numerose. Stando agli ultimi dati potrebbero essere almeno una trentina ma le operazioni di soccorso non hanno ancora raggiunto tutti. Drammatiche le immagini che ci arrivano dai social, alcuni residenti hanno cercato scampo persino gettandosi nelle piscine, è una catastrofe che ha pochi precedenti nella storia recente del Paese:
