SPETTACOLARE AURORA BOREALE - Qualche giorno fa la Nasa aveva annunciato che la tempesta geomagnetica in arrivo sulla Terra proprio nella giornata di Halloween avrebbe potuto causare dei blackout, per fortuna così non è stato ma la conseguenza più affascinante del fenomeno, l'aurora boreale si è mostrata in tutto il suo splendore a latitudini abbastanza insolite. Si sa infatti che le interferenze tra il flusso di elettroni e protoni (plasma) provenienti dal Sole e il campo magnetico terrestre rendono visibili le aurore soprattutto ai poli e a latitudini sub polari ma quando la tempesta solare è particolarmente intensa le aurore possono vedersi anche molto più a Sud come Inghilterra, Danimarca, Germania, Scandinavia meridionale:
