Morte e distruzione dopo il passaggio di Ian. Anche dopo parecchi giorni dal suo devastante passaggio su Cuba, Florida e Carolina del Sud, l'uragano Ian continua a far parlare di sè. Questo perchè la stima dei danni e delle vittime continua a salire e fa registrare numeri spaventosi. Sono 100 i morti provocati dalla furia dell'uragano che è stato classificato come il secondo sistema ciclonico tropicale più mortale degli ultimi 87 anni in Florida, il terzo degli ultimi 96 anni.
Torniamo indietro nel tempo. L'1 settembre 1935, giorno della festa dei lavoratori (labor day negli Stai Uniti), un potentissimo uragano colpì in particolar modo la Florida causando 409 morti, mentre sempre nel mese di settembre ma del 1926 un altro intenso ciclone tropicale devastò le Bahamas e la Florida orientale causando 372 vittime. Ovviamente bisogna considerare anche che in quegli anni le abitazioni e in generale tutte le infrastrutture non erano quelle di oggi. Ma ora guardiamo con i nostri occhi, tramite alcuni video, cosa ha provocato Ian.
