A low pressure system from the Atlantic Ocean is shifting notheastwards towards northern and central Europe today and during the next few days bringing an autumn feeling as it will be followed by long spells of rain, heavy showers, strong winds and a temperature drop.

Heavy rain, showers and strong winds over the British Isles: the system is heading towards the British Isles today, bringing showers, heavy rain and possible local thunderstorms, accompanied by strong westerly winds. Tonight, showers could be intense along Ireland, Whales and western England, while during the night and the morning, the system will quickly cross Britain bringing locally heavy showers and gusts up to 90-100km/h, especially across the western and southern areas. Maximum temperatures, tomorrow, will reach nearly 17-20°C with London reaching 20°C and Edinburg 15°C.

Thunderstorms, heavy rain and possible flash flooding and hail across central Europe: the low pressure system will dominate central Europe tomorrow, bringing intense weather locally especially across northwestern Europe, France, the Low Countries, Germany and finally Denmark. Especially the first three countries could experience locally flash floods, and hail while strong winds could create coastal flooding across the western coastlines of France. On Thursday, the low pressure system will be less intense and will head northeastwards towards Scandinavia and northeastern Europe, bringing dry and sunny spells with a few local showers. Maximum temperatures will reach 19-22°C in the northern parts of the countries with Paris, Amsterdam and Hamburg reaching 20°C on Thursday.

Heavy showers, rain and autumn temperatures in northeastern Europe:

after the current Atlantic system that is already affecting northeastern Europe with showers, the new Atlantic system will bring new showers and rain on Thursday and Friday. Maximum temperatures will reach 21°C in Tallinn and 18°C in Helsinki.
