Winter spells will be spread across eastern Europe during Easter (9/04), as cold air masses will dominate, bringing cold temperatures and scattered showers or thunderstorms, while western Europe will be affected by high pressure, sun and high temperatures.

In more detail, on Easter Sunday variable weather is expected across eastern Europe with scattered showers or thunderstorms in Italy (mostly locally across central and southern parts of the country), the Balkans ( especially across Greece and the southern Balkans), Ukraine, eastern Poland, Belarus and locally across the Baltic states. It should be noted that there will also be dry times with sunny spells between the outbreaks. The most significant trait of the day is that the temperatures will be 5-6°C lower than normal especially across the Balkans with maximum temperatures 11°C in Budapest, 14°C in Bucharest, 10°C in Prague, 8°C in Berlin, 17°C in Rome, 14°C in Bari and 16°C in Athens. Minimum temperatures in many city centers will not be exceeding 5-8°C across the southeastern countries, while 0-5°C across the northeastern countries.

On the other hand, sunny and dry spells are expected across most of western Europe, due to a high pressure system that dominates the areas. In Ireland, though, a band of rain and cloud is expected to move eastwards across the country during the day.  The most significant trait of the day is that the temperatures will be 4-6°C higher than normal, while across Spain they can be even 8-10°C higher. Maximum temperatures will reach 15°C in London, 16°C in Paris, 21°C in Bordeaux and Lisbon, while in Spain locally they will be over 27-30°C.

On Easter Monday (10/04) unstable weather conditions are expected across northwestern Europe with rain or showers especially across the British Isles, northern France, the Netherlands, Belgium, western Scandinavia and western Germany which will be accompanied by a temperature drop.. Scattered showers will continue to persist also across southern Italy and the Balkans.
